The Panasonic Toughbook is the most practical platform in the automotive environment. The RS-232 com port is needed for the FORD factory scanner as well as MERCEDES BENZ & VOLVO diagnostic programs. The VAG-COM can use that port w/out the troublesome USB drivers. RS-232 provides a more reliable, connection than USB and has no length restrictions. USB, by the way, stands for Unable(to)Solidly Be connected.

These touchscreens are perfect for running VAG-COM, VADIS, VIDA, or Star Diagnosis. The J-2534 works best with the RS-232 connector.
